Document Scanner FAQ
- Are my ID card photos uploaded anywhere?
- No. Cropping, perspective correction and PDF/PNG export all run in your browser with canvas. The images never leave your device and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
- How do I straighten a photo taken at an angle?
- Drag the four corner handles onto the corners of the document, or press Auto-detect. The tool warps that shape into a flat rectangle using the aspect ratio you pick (ID card, A4, A6, square or Fit to crop).
- Can I adjust the corners without a mouse?
- Yes. Press Tab to focus a corner handle and use the arrow keys to move it in small steps, or hold Shift for bigger steps. Screen readers announce the corner's position as a percentage of the image.
- Should I export PDF or PNG?
- PDF places the front and back on a single A4 page, ready to print or attach to a form. PNG gives you one image with both sides stacked on a white background, which suits uploads that only accept images.
- Why does the camera not open?
- The browser needs camera permission and a secure (HTTPS) connection. If permission was denied, allow it in the site settings, or use Upload to pick a photo you already took.
