QR Studio FAQ
- How does the Wi-Fi preset work?
- It encodes the standard WIFI: payload (T:security;S:network;P:password;) that iOS and Android cameras recognise, so scanning joins the network without typing. Special characters such as ; , : \ and quotes are escaped automatically, and you can mark the network as hidden or choose No password for open networks.
- What ends up in a vCard QR code?
- A vCard 3.0 contact with your name (as both N and FN), organisation, job title, phone, email and website. Commas, semicolons and line breaks are escaped so the card imports cleanly into phone contacts. Empty fields are left out to keep the code small.
- Do I need to type https:// for the URL preset?
- No. If the link has no scheme, https:// is added for you; links that already start with a scheme such as http:// or ftp:// are kept as they are.
- Which error correction level should I pick?
- Medium (M) suits most uses. Choose High (Q) or Very high (H) when you add a logo or expect the code to be printed small or get scuffed, because the extra redundancy lets scanners recover hidden or damaged modules.
- Which download format is best for print?
- SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, so it is the best choice for print. PNG and WebP are raster images suited to screens, slides and chat apps; you can also copy the PNG straight to the clipboard.
- Is my data sent anywhere?
- No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser and your last settings are only kept in this browser's local storage. Wi-Fi passwords and contact details never leave your device.
