Markdown Editor FAQ
- Is my Markdown uploaded anywhere?
- No. Rendering and exporting run entirely in your browser. Your draft is auto-saved to this browser's local storage only, and never sent to a server.
- Which keyboard shortcuts does the editor support?
- Inside the editor, Ctrl+B (Cmd+B on macOS) toggles bold, Ctrl+I toggles italic, Ctrl+K inserts a link and Ctrl+Z undoes the last change. Pressing Ctrl+B or Ctrl+I again on a formatted selection removes the formatting.
- How do I export my document?
- Use the .md button to download the raw Markdown, or .html to download a standalone HTML page with a small built-in stylesheet that works in light and dark mode. The file name comes from your first heading.
- Is raw HTML in my Markdown rendered?
- No. HTML tags are escaped and links with unsafe schemes such as javascript: are neutralised, so pasted content cannot run scripts in the preview or in the exported HTML.
- Which Markdown syntax is supported?
- Headings, bold, italic, inline code, fenced code blocks, links, images, bullet, numbered and task lists, blockquotes, horizontal rules and pipe tables.
